Induction expands National Honor Society ranks

Forty Gateway High School students were inducted into National Honor Society.
They are Anthony Barone, Alvaro Cardoza, Brittany Chelkis, Wayne Chiang, Elizabeth Costello, Andrew Coulter.
Margo Davis, Megan De-Witt, Karyn May Drombosky, Caitlin Dunn, Natalie Episcopo.

Students received induction certificates at the induction ceremony.
Afterward, they attended a congratulatory reception with their fellow inductees, parents and administrators.
Dr. Maria Simbra, medical correspondent with KDKA-TV, was the guest speaker.
National Honor Society membership is a form of recognition for scholarship, leadership, service and character.
Criteria for induction at Gateway High School include a grade-point average of 3.7 or higher and leadership and community service experience.
National Honor Society members volunteer for a year-long program in which they serve as tutors for underclassmen struggling with academic subjects.
